A
Toxic Berry
Today
I lost my fondest friend
Rash
affront making fondness end
Stealing
my love she became a foe
Her
actions made my outrage grow
I
nurtured it with fears
Shaping,
pruning with my shears,
It
grew with the sunlight of my smiles
Producing
berries ripe with guile.
They
grew and ripened on my tree
So
juicy and delicious they looked that she
Had
to come for a closer look
Never
minding the time it took
And
trespassing through my property she stole
On
a night as dark as coal:
Later
the departure of sirens I hear
And with it my anger disappears.
